These small wooden plates are versatile and sturdy. This lovely little plate works well as a side piece on your tabletop, for salads or bread, or is perfect as a kids plate-- replacing plastic as a sturdy non breakable piece. Hand carved in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia, by 89 year old Glendon Boyd, a 5th generation Appalachian woodworker, using traditional techniques and local woods such as maple, oak, cherry and occasionally black walnut. Plates are signed and dated and the type of wood is carved in the bottom. Treated with vegetable oil only. Sizes vary; approx. 7" dia. for the small and 9" for the large
