Gustavian Style Finish On An Old Oak Corbel Shelf

This shelf is heavy and ridiculously hard to photograph but I couldn’t not share it with you. I’m practicing new layered finishes and the next one I want to master is Gustavian. It’s soft and subtle with a little crackle and distress. Lots of layers and tone on tone detail. After hours on Pinterest and watching a few tutorials I made a plan on how to do it my way. And because I’m crazy I decided to do it with Zeb live on our channel, you can watch the replay by clicking the button below. Turns out we executed it just the way I planned in my mind. Never be afraid to try a new paint finish, it’s just paint and you can start over anytime ❤️.

This piece was painted during a Waste Not Wednesday which is a live stream each week on Wednesday at 10PM MT on the Jami Ray Vintage Facebook page and Youtube channel. Here is a link to the replay: https://youtu.be/EC2PSXbfBVY
