German Pancakes with Kamut Flour and Caramelized Date Syrup

German Pancake Ingredients


  • 6 Large Eggs
  • 1 Cup Kamut Flour
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ¼ cup Butter

Caramelized Date Syrup Ingredients


  • 14 oz Date Syrup
  • 8 tbsp Butter
  • Pinch of salt 
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp vanilla

German Pancakes With Kamut Flour

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine the eggs and salt in a medium bowl and lightly whisk the eggs. Add the flour and milk and combine until most of the lumps are whisked out.


Melt the butter and coat a 9x13 baking pan and then pour the pancake batter into the middle of the pan to spread the butter out to the edges.


Bake for 30 minutes until the edges rise and are a crispy golden color.

Caramelized Date Syrup

Combine the butter, milk, salt and date syrup in a medium saucepan and stir continuously until boiling.  Keep at a boiling temp for 3 minutes and then turn the heat off and stir in the baking soda and the vanilla.
